I operate privately at the Alexandra Hospital, Cheadle, Cheshire. See clinic locations page for address/map.

If an operation is recommended and agreed upon, the secquence of events is as follows:

  1. For insured patients, patients should advise insurers of operation (and operation code(s)- I give this at the time) for approval.
  2. Date of operation- I usually give patients a range of available dates and they phone my secretary when a suitable date is chosen.
  3. My secretary will sort out bookings process with the Alexandra and they will send out admission forms/letters direct.
  4. For some patients, a pre-op visit to see a nurse at the Alexandra is required for tests (e.g. blood tests).
  5. Most of my lists are on Thursday afternoons. Most patients are asked tc come in around or just before mid-day.
  6. On admission, a nurse will perform a nurse admission. Then I and my anaesthetist will attend.

STARVING INSTRUCTIONS

For general anaesthetic operations, assuming an afternoon list, have breakfast as normal. Afterwards, nothing further to eat and no drinks apart from modest amounts of water if thirsty.
